Dr. phil. Nora Haakh is a cultural scientist and a researching artist between performing and visual arts. She works as a dramaturg, university teacher, graphic recorder, storyteller and performer.
During her studies in Berlin, Paris, Istanbul and Cairo she started working as a dramaturg in the emerging postmigrant theatre movement in Berlin. Since 2012, she has participated in the birthing of numerous works in classical and new drama, documentary theatre, contemporary dance, performance and film as a dramaturg, curator and performer. Long-term collaborations include theatre director Nora Abdel-Maksoud whose political and humorous pieces are being shown all over Germany, with interdisciplinary artist Ilker Abay in the core team of the artistic/social laboratory AUCH, and with the dance company Grupo Oito. Her dissertation on theatre transfer and translation from Arabic into German was awarded the prestigious Augsburg Science Award for Intercultural Studies in 2021. Her current practice combines Graphic Recording, Storytelling and Performance, as in her ongoing longterm artistic research „Tree Translator“ and with the performance collective “Machine to become-“. She shares her experiences in writing, as a speaker and teaching critical and applied dramaturgy at HAW Hamburg.
Dr. phil. Nora Haakh ist Kulturwissenschaftlerin und forschende Künstlerin zwischen darstellender und bildender Kunst. Sie arbeitet als Dramaturgin, Dozentin, Graphic Recorderin und Performerin.
Während ihres Studiums der Islamwissenschaft, Politikwissenschaft und Geschichte in Berlin mit Aufenthalten in Paris, Istanbul und Kairo arbeitete Nora Haakh als Dramaturgie- und Regieassistentin (u.a. für Yael Ronen und Jens Hillje), Übertitlerin und Produktionsleiterin. Zwischen 2012 und 2015 war sie als Dramaturgin am postmigrantischen Theater Ballhaus Naunynstraße tätig, seitdem freiberuflich im Bereich Theater, Performance, Tanz, Film, u.a. in langjähriger Zusammenarbeit mit Autorin/Regisseurin Nora Abdel-Maksoud, mit der Tanzkompanie Grupo Oito, mit dem interdisziplinären Künstler Ilker Abay und im Leitungsteam des Kunst-/Soziallabors AUCH. 2021 veröffentlichte sie ihre erste Monographie “Die Islamdebatte im postmigrantischen Theater”, im gleichen Jahr wurde ihre Doktorarbeit “Layla und Majnun in der Contact Zone” mit einem Sonderpreis Kultur des Augsburger Wissenschaftspreises für interkulturelle Studien ausgezeichnet. Sie unterrichtet Dramaturgie an der HAW Hamburg und performt als Storytellerin, als Mitglied des Kollektivs “Machine to become-” und im Rahmen ihrer künstlerischen Forschung “Tree Translator”.
